About this survey

We all have a part to play in resilience and emergency response in our communities. What if there is civil unrest, or violence and vandalism affecting your community? What if there is a flood? A power outage, or another pandemic? How prepared are the businesses in your network to withstand and recover from these emergencies, and how could they support their communities in response?

Local Resilience Forums (LRFs) are muti-agency partnerships including police, fire, ambulance, local authorities, and other agencies that sit at the heart of resilience and emergency response. Their aim is to ‘plan and prepare for localised incidents and catastrophic emergencies.’ (www.gov.uk).

Businesses play a vital role in local communities, and we know that they have risen to the challenge during previous emergencies to support first responders and communities. We have also seen businesses demonstrate their own resilience to incidents in recent years. LRFs seek to investigate how they can best work with business networks to make their local areas more resilient.

This survey aims to help Local Resilience Forums (LRFs) gather views from business and enterprise networks about how they view their role in local resilience and preparedness, and how they can ensure that businesses are able to respond to emergencies and support their local communities.

The survey should take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete. The data collected will be used for research purposes by Business In The Community and the Greater London Authority. Full responses will only be accessed by Business In The Community and the Greater London Authority team members supporting the project. Any responses used in the published research report will be anonymised. To read more about how data is handled please read the privacy policies linked below.
