Camden Council Diversity on Boards

Thank you for your interest in our project and for clicking through to this registration.
We are currently working with Camden Council on a project with the goal of making boards in Camden representative of the population it serves. This project therefore has two objectives:
To understand the barriers that exist and prevent people from underrepresented groups in Camden from participating on boards and its decision-making process
To explore strategies that will lead to inclusion and retention of these underrepresented groups once they are recruited on boards and the decision-making process
(Board definition: a group of persons having managerial, supervisory, investigatory, or advisory powers e.g., school governors, business boards, non-executive directors)
By the end of this study, we will aim to provide recommendations for a deliverable package of support to individuals and organisations that support diverse recruitment and retention of individuals on boards in the borough of Camden.
To this end, we are looking to recruit:
6-8 people to work alongside us as part of a co-creation group. The co-creation group will work alongside us as advisors and co-creators. Please note, you don’t need to have any research experience to apply for this role.
Additionally, 6-8 people who would be interested in exploration labs, which are online group discussions.
The criteria to apply to be part of one of our group discussions happening in December 2023 is:
Over 18 years old
Identify as being from underrepresented groups this includes, black and ethnic minority groups, living with a disability etc.,
Live in Camden borough, London, UK
If you are selected to become a member of our co-creation group, you will be paid £100 for your time. As a member of the co-creation group you will be expected to commit up to 2 hours (this includes attending 2 online co-creation sessions - lasting between 60 and 90 minutes each ) over two months. All sessions will be held in the evening starting from 6pm.
If you are selected to participate in the exploration labs, you will be expected to attend one 60-90 minute online discussion via Zoom and you will be remunerated £50 for your time.
This registration form will take less than 5 minutes to complete.
